Aphrodite was the fastest in the oceanic stage Vila do Porto – Ponta Delgada
The Atlantis Cup®, Autonomia Regatta, is once again part of the Azores Regional Cruise Sailing Championship, contested in the ORC class.
The competition began in Ponta Delgada (São Miguel), with the first technical regatta.
2Hot2Handle, owned by António Tânger Corrêa, won the first and only race of the day, leading the ORC classification in the Atlantis Cup® 2023, followed by the sailboats Madeinus and Ideia Fixa.
First oceanic stage connected Santa Maria and São Miguel
The 2023 edition of the Autonomy Regatta began in Santa Maria (July 30th), with Aphrodite (OPEN) by Rui Mendonça, being the fastest in the first ocean race that connected Vila do Porto (Santa Maria) to Ponta Delgada ( São Miguel).
At the end of the first ocean stage, contested in the OPEN and ANC classes, Aphrodite leads the OPEN class, followed by the sailboats Allegro Vivace and Air Mail.
2Hot2Handle, was the second to cut the line in Ponta Delgada, leading the ANC classification, followed by the sailboats Babsea and Carapau.
The Atlantis Cup fleet® 2023 heads today, August 1st, from Ponta Delgada to Angra do Heroísmo (Terceira), in the second ocean race, counting for the three classes (ORC, ANC and OPEN).
The Atlantis Cup® 2023 is organized by the Clube Naval da Horta, in partnership with the Clube Naval de Santa Maria, Clube Naval de Ponta Delgada, Angra Iate Clube and Clube Náutico de Angra do Heroísmo, with the High Patronage of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
